In this episode, we clear out of Fiji and set sail in some very boisterous conditions towards New Zealand. We make great speed but encounter some of the roughest seas we have ever sailed in. Even going to the toilet is a challenge!
Five days later ,we are motoring in the smoothest conditions we have ever encountered in the South Pacific Ocean. We are greeted by dolphins and spectacular sunsets.
Ocean sailing certainly keeps you on your toes.
We arrive into Opua, NZ after 6 days and 22 hours at sea having done an average speed of 6.5 knots. Our fastest crossing yet 🙂
